Thomnak
spent
his
teen
years
recording
and touring the east coast with
Evil Dean, opening for a host of bands (fIREHOSE, Adrenilin OD, The
Radicts etc). Thom became known for his very aggressive style of bass playing through the early 1990’s as a member of the seminal hardcore metal band Rorschach. After recording Protestant and playing on several national, international and regional tours Rorschach disbanded. After the demise of Rorschach, Thom formed Hunger with long-time friends from Pagan Rite, Heevahava and Heart of Darkness, released a 7” and took the band on tour for 10 weeks in Europe. East Berlin punk
rock band Ambush
parted ways with their bassist and invited Thom to stay in Germany and
fill the
position. After nearly 3 years of constantly touring Europe, a double
album, a
full length and several 10” records as well as gigging and recording
with project band Hitler, Thom left Berlin and moved back to New York. (More
about
that
here.) Rejoining his old friends from Rorschach, Keith Huckins and Andrew Gormley, the 3 of them teamed up with Tim Singer of Deadguy to form Kiss It Goodbye. Their demo and sold out shows at CBGB’s earned them immediate label interest not only around New York but nationally. After signing with Revelation Records, Kiss It Goodbye took their live show out on the road touring with Unsane, Obituary, and Sweet Diesel, and played shows with everyone from Neurosis to Napalm Death. After KIG Thom did short tours with Ambush and Playing Enemy, played bass on PE’s first full length called Cesarean, and wrote and recorded the ill-fated Family Man demo with friends Tim, Aaron and Andrew. Moving to Portland, Thom spent a year playing bass for Daniel Riddle’s King Black Acid at sold out venues around Oregon including Doug Fir, the Chrystal Ballroom and the McDonald Theatre. Rorschach has been playing around the U.S. again. With a successful east coast tour under their belt Rorschach is playing the west coast in August and September of 2011. Kiss It Goodbye, with all original members including Keith Huckins and Demian Johnston are slated to play New York in 2012. Currently Thom plays in Triplehorn with Alex Miller and Combaticus with drummer Joe Trump (Carbon/Pig Face/King Black Acid) and guitarist John Butler (Hitting Birth). |
